NET & SET Exam Overview :
The UGC-NET (University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test) and the MH-SET (Maharashtra-State Eligibility Test) are significant qualifying exams for academic positions in India. The UGC NET is a national level test that evaluates candidates for eligibility for assistant professor or for junior research fellowships in Indian universities and colleges. Administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it covers a wide range of subjects and is held twice a year.
The MH-SET, specific to Maharashtra and Goa, is conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University. It serves a similar purpose as the UGC NET but is limited to assessing eligibility for assistant professor positions in the colleges and universities of Maharashtra and Goa.
